We are working in partnership with the NHS Transformation Directorate (formerly NHSX) to support the digital journey of adult social care providers in England, and improve the quality of care.
We believe that digital innovation gives us the opportunity to:
- Improve the quality of care
- Be transparent and accountable
- Support individuals to remain independent for longer
- Improve the quality and efficiency of information sharing between health and social care.
We have worked with the Care Software Providers Association (CASPA) to develop a North Star set of principles to support digital transformation in social care. The principles state that digital systems being rolled out to Social Care Providers and their interoperability must be:
- Focussed on each person receiving care
- Intuitively integrated in the operational workflow
- A time saver and not lead to duplication of effort
- Able to share information and report appropriately
- Inclusive of social care providers and people receiving care in decision-making processes
